It tells the story of three very different families struggling to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they believe will solve all their problems. I was surprised to see the series rated so poorly, but it made more sense after seeing a lot of reviews about how they didn’t make it past the first episode. The show is a slow-burn mystery that may not be for everyone. Personally, I found it funny and entertaining with a distinctly Liz Feldman tone that I like. I really like the cast and everyone’s performances. At first, I wasn’t sold on Ray Romano due to my own biases (I couldn’t separate him from Everybody Loves Raymond for Life), but that dissipated pretty quickly. The different characters all have their own parallel stories that form a tangled web of chaos that gradually, but not completely, unravels. By the last episode, I was pretty engaged with the story, even though I developed the main plot twist very early on. But I’m not mad about it. I would love to watch more of this show and I really hope they get a second season. No need to waste time scrolling endlessly – here’s the full lineup of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
