Miami, 1991. When his bloodthirsty desires can no longer be ignored, young Dexter Morgan must learn to channel his inner darkness as he goes from student to vengeful serial killer under the tutelage of his father, Harry. “Dexter” shares the same birthday as Michael C. Hall, February 1, 1971. In episode 4, the Blockbuster employee that Deb and her friend meet wears a dark blue short sleeve shirt as part of her uniform. In 1991, employees wore long sleeve light blue shirts. Short sleeves were not worn until 4-5 years later. Followed by Dexter: Resurrection (2025). I went into the book with very low expectations and was especially looking forward to “Resurrection.” The beginning of the first episode was a little weird with the cuts and the CGI police car, and I thought, “Oh man, this is going to be a flop.” By the end of the first episode, I was completely hooked as the actors perfectly portrayed their characters and the story showed promise. Although we already know a lot of the backstory, there were a few surprises in the first episode that add depth to some of the characters we’ve come to know and love, and give some context to the choices these characters make. Just one episode and I’m already hooked!
